*About a week before Jada Pinkett Smith made headlines defending that pic, we sat down with Willow’s mom to talk all things “Gotham.”
The actress stars in FOX’s upcoming “Batman” prequel that will follow Detectives James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) as they solve one of Gotham’s most high-profile cases: the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. During the probe, they empathize with the Waynes’ son Bruce, now being cared for by his butler Alfred (Sean Pertwee).
During their investigation, Gordon of course comes across some familiar villains, including Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor)…and Mrs. Smith as gang boss Fish Mooney.
“Fish Mooney is part of the Falcone organization, which is basically ruling Gotham at this particular point of time, and she’s kind of rising in the ranks and she’s an interesting character,” Jada told us. “I mean she’s a really complex woman.
“I’m very excited to birth her and discover her. The most exciting part is that no one knows who Fish Mooney is. So to have the opportunity to be a part of a character that’s brand-new to this franchise is exciting. To really bring many layers to this woman who is quite disturbed, but what you see on the outside is not what you get. I think, she’s going to be a very unique addition to the Gotham world.”
Below, Jada explains what else viewers can expect when watching  “Gotham” this fall.
